Hilarious as ever!!!
26 August 2019
Only than his early work in stand up, I'd have to say this is the best one to date. I was laughing out loud constantly and he doesn't shy away from making fun of everyone. Great show, I'll probably watch this a couple more times to be perfectly honest.

Netflix getting it right!!
4 August 2019
Very entertaining, great story, great cast and great acting. I was happy to see a mixture between bigger actors and some lesser known actor assembled and delivered with a great movie. It's a fantastic story and I'm glad that they told this story as opposed to remaking a movie or repeating the same events over and over again. Chris Evans is proving to be a stud and has come a long way from "Not anothe teen movie" and typical rom coms.

Seemed like fun!!!
23 July 2019
This movie seemed like a fun movie to make. With an older cast, It draws comparison to Calendar girls. I wouldn't say this is an amazing movie but it's not a bad way to spend a Monday night. You can tell that Netflix will continue to build around their young actor core. Charlie Tahan (Ozark) is in it as well as Alisha Boe (13 reasons why) and it will be interesting to see where they end up branching out from dramas to comedies and so on.

Slimy, yet satisfying, with none of the Disney magic!!
19 July 2019
Visually this movie is phenomenal and realistic, it felt like you were watching and experiencing a true live action remake which felt like you were watching an episode of LIFE. Unfortunately what it made up for in visuals, lacked it almost every other way. There are key moments from the original that I felt spoke to me the most were omitted from this remake. It felt as though the actors were just saying their lines and didn't show the emotion or soul that viewers were owed. For the most part there weren't anyone that stuck out. James Earl Jones has always been the standout with his voice still being as powerful. I think casting was a bit of an issue. I think Donald Glover would have been more suited for young Simba and probably would have killed it. Timone ane Pumba started to grow on me the more the movie went on, but there's no replacing Nathan Lane. John Oliver came across as annoying sometimes as Zazu. I didn't feel the soul in Rafiki for most of his part. The beginning was a tad disappointing, I couldn't wait for young Simba to grow up, middle was very good and the ending was just okay. And the songs just didn't really do it for me. Spirit wasn't really put in the right part of the movie. The songs that weren't sung by the actors still held true to the original and Hans Zimmer did his thing.

In my honest opinion if this was a shot for shot remake of the original it would have been a slam dunk but it get more like a cash grab. I think it was better than Aladdin, but maybe if they took Mulan's approach it could have been a different movie entirely.

Not always sunshine and rainbows!!
14 July 2019
An in depth look at the life of Terry Sawchuk in and around his world in hockey. Refreshing to see a rag to riches without it all being sunshine and rainbows. A lot of struggles and constant obstacles to overcome. I was impressed by this being a made for TV movie since it's better than a lot of movies that I've seen in theatres. Worth a watch if you are or ever were a hockey fan.

The wake up call that's needed!!
12 June 2019
A direct look on how the rise of Carbon in the atmosphere is directly affecting climate change. Narrated by Leonardo Dicaprio, and explained by expects from across the world, this documentary goes in depth to describe how this is affecting the world we are living in, how it contributes to more severe natural disaster and is leading towards mass extinctions in our future. A sequel to Leo's "Before the Flood", Which is just as eye opening, it's worth a watch to be able to see how far we've come and what we have to do to save the planet before it's too late. A must watch!!!

Don't Call It A Comeback!!
5 June 2019
A behind the scenes look at the rise and fall of the Jonas Brothers to build up their comback tour. You get to see the struggle for their claim to fame and how it seemingly happened overnight. One of the first bands to utilize the social media platform and soar to incredible heights. It was a well done documentary to show how the brothers came full circle to reunite.

Not as bad as I thought but a good start.
29 May 2019
Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be as far as Netflix movies, it's still a bit corny and cheesy. Its a promising start for these young actors. It will be interesting to see where they end up. Overall the movie is okay, cinematography was a bit off but it was nice to see the development of the characters.

Hilarious, I was pleasantly surprised.
29 May 2019
This is pretty much a girl version of Superbad, but it's own movie entirely. Funny enough it features Jonah Hill's younger sister and this looks like it could be her breakout role. I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting to laugh so hard at parts of this movie, but it was a great start for director Olivia Wilde. The casting was fantastic, and the absolute randomness of this movie was cringeworthy and entertaining. Definitely should give this a watch.

Forced Female Grown Ups movie
10 May 2019
Half the cast of Bridesmaids, but a Netflix knock off. Pretty much like a grown ups version but with women, minus the kids. Much like modern Adam Sandler comedies, this leaves a lot to be desired. This movie just tries too hard and it's really hard to relate to any of the characters. There are some good moments but it's a tough watch overall.

Fantastic, original and one of a kind!!
9 May 2019
I left the theatre happy and pleasantly surprised. I thought the movie was very original and comedic. The graphics were great and I loved how the Pokémon looked. At time I felt like I was reliving a childish fantasy. Ryan Reynolds is just amazing, he was a fantastic choice and I can't picture watching this without him as Pikachu. This has been my favourite movie so far this year.

A title that lives up to the name
5 May 2019
This is an average indie movie with decent acting and a basic script. Pretty much like a poor version of Due Date, I would strongly recommend watching that instead if you haven't seen it yet. Not very realistic, but pretty much what people would fear picking up a hitch hiker. Appearances from Grace Gummer and Taissa Farmiga, which kind of gives you something to look forward to. Overall I wouldn't have high expectations watching this, so hopefully that helps.

Just enough to pass the time
13 April 2019
This movie isn't anything special, tries to be innovative but fails in doing so. You'll need a coffee or energy drink to stay awake throughout the whole thing. Acting is pretty flat and just feels like the actors are just reading a script and that's it. There are some sparks of funny moments, but not enough to make up for the rest.

Brexit (2019 TV Movie)

The beginning of the end as we know it.
27 January 2019
Brexit was the first of many shake ups that no one saw coming or were prepared to face. This film offers insight on blueprint of the new age of politics, from targeting voters and to follow a narrative of fear and "taking back" our country. One way to look at it is to appreciate the beauty of it all and the strategy that was taken to win the vote, but on the other hand, these tactics were used to elect trump and many other leaders that followed. This film will offer a behind the scenes look of where this all started. Benedict Cumberbatch is brilliant as always!!

A disastrous masterpiece!!
20 January 2019
A nice in depth look to the disaster Fyre event and a behind the scenes look at how a great business idea can explode when you don't plan properly and you're selling an idea rather than a product. You'll be satisfied by the outcome but bittersweet knowing that a rich boy never learnt his lesson in the end.

Very original and realistic
18 January 2019
Since We are Marshall, I haven't seen Anthony Mackie deliver a performance of this magnitude. From someone who's not usually a lead character, I would say the argument is out that he may be able to carry a film. Margaret Qualley as well has proved that she is a force to be reckoned with. I'm very excited in the future of these to actors.

This is an original sci fi that doesn't drag on and force things to develop, it kind of lets the script and the special effects do what they are supposed to do. I'm starting to warm up to Netflix movies, and if they keep putting out stuff like this, then we are in for many more surprises.

Grumpy Older Men!!
15 January 2019
Richard Dreyfuss steals the show in this movie while Chevy Chase holds the clipboard. Most of the comedy is by the former. This movie is filled with dad jokes, and if you like them as much as I do then you'll enjoy this as well. Mildly entertaining with some parts that drag on a bit too long. Not as bad as I've experienced from Netflix films.

Not a puff piece, addictive and inspiring!!
14 January 2019
This was a great documentary. What is emphasized throughout the whole film is that there's no sympathy needed for Richard Turner. He is brilliant at what he does and is severely disciplined in anything he focused his mind on. There are some struggles in being blind, but Richard doesn't let that affect his life. Truly inspiring and mind blowing that will leave you speechless. I recommend this to anyone who needs motivating or drive.

Split personalities, split decision!!
6 January 2019
Trying to figure out if this is a good movie or not. It's not one of those movies that you can put in the background and watch. Concept of being able to communicate with your brother in your own body is fascinating but makes the first half of the movie feel pretty long. It is pretty different that you wouldn't be able to remember anything of your other subconscious. I wasn't disappointed with this, just not sure how to process this. Didn't captivate me the way I was hoping and I'll probably be able to forget it in about a week. Won't need to rewatch this but it's still worth a watch.

A new found appreciation for the sport.
1 January 2019
This was an amazing documentary that doesn't really feel like one. It flows pretty well and gives you a behind the scenes look at what goes on inside and outside of the track. I didn't understand how physically demanding this sport can be. Scott Dixon is an animal and this film makes me appreciate all the hard work and technical ability that goes on behind the scenes. This is an amazing story!!

Original Idea, heartwarming moments, won't be remembered.
1 January 2019
First movie to kick of 2019 that I've seen. I had been meaning to watch it a while ago. This is an original concept that might have been lost on making it a teen romance. I think if they took a Butterfly Effect/Donnie Darko ending, or a more dark approach to this film, where you can see the struggle with A's identity and the impact of whom they tookover then it could have been brilliant. Felt longer than an hour and a half but wasn't boring. I was interested in how things would develop. I'm not disappointed, I just think the idea fell on the wrong audience for something that could have been really technical to pull off. A for effort, but could have been better.

Andy Serkis is the most underrated talent in Hollywood!!!
6 December 2018
Andy Serkis can do it all without drawing much attention or praise to himself. He can act, great voice actor and he's proven that he can direct. Even though they did the remake of The Jungle Book two years ago and I almost always hate remakes so close together. I would gladly say that I am wrong about this one. It was done perfectly and was a completely different spin on it. I would be glad if Andy got another chance at directing another Disney movie, Great job with this one!!!

Doesn't accomplish what it wants to!!
1 December 2018
It's 2018, so it was only a matter or time before a movie like this was made. I think much like what this movie is about, it struggles to find what it wants to be. I don't think this movie is a fair representation of what a family goes through when their kid struggles with finding their identity. I don't disagree with making a movie like this and raising awareness, but this was poorly executed. Don't get lost in the higher profiles actors and be fooled that this good.

Oscar Worthy Performances!!!
28 November 2018
The only thing better than the story is the performance by Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali. Both of them deliver flawless performances and show tremendous chemistry together. This movie will be in the running for many awards and I think they will come home with some silverware. It was much better than I was expecting and I went in the theatres with high expectations.

It's not so bad after all
26 November 2018
Pretty much a parent trap remake but loaded with way more cheese and gravy. It's overly sappy and heartfealt that it fits right in with Christmas movies. This movie will help get into the holiday feeling. Watch with some popcorn, hot cocoa and some baked goods.
