Fifty Shades of Grey (2015)
a stupid 'story' makes for a stupid film
this stupid film has no storyline; it has stupid dialog; it has all the stupid excuses for cold sex, sex, sex, sex that people call it romance??? another word, it is pure plain stupid film; this is Hollywood version of porn being sugar coated as romance so that is can pull in audience; else, it wouldn't make it to the big screen. Never thought there'd be a day when porn made it into Hollywood and the sad thing is, people makes it happened. Twilight was a film about love between the couple that was slowly developed and they didn't have sex until marriage. Whereas Twilight was white, 50 shades was black; the author was inspired by Twilight and copycat it and made it into something ugly that demeans women. We should be ashamed of supporting such trash; how low our culture has gone. We have become a people of low intelligence because we can't distinguish what is good and what is bad.
Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)
Christians are mocked
I say, either Hollywood or Ridley Scott thinks Christians are idiots that they would buy into their atheistic version of Moses. True scripture of exodus story, God is the ONE who free Israel from the Egyptian slavery, literally. This includes many miracles and no Hebrew army is required. Another word, God single handed did the job. But this film outrageously distort it so that any miracle (plaques) is naturally explained away, and any that can't be explained, like staff to snake and the pillar of fire and cloud, is eliminated from the film. Without these miracles, the Hebrew can't be released from bondage. In its place, the film would have an army to do the job. Another word, it was not really God, or so Hollywood and Scott would have us Christians believe. Yeah, the Christians misread scripture and the film is telling how an atheist would interpret it, like R. Scott (he's an atheist). With such distortion, what makes Hollywood and Scott think that they can attract Christians to this film, unless they truly think Christians are idiots. Here's an advice for Scott. It's a joke for an atheist to attempt to direct a biblical story to a movie. Stick to something you're good at. The film is doomed to fail, in monetary term. Hollywood should take heed, again.
Dracula Untold (2014)
see it as a purely entertainment film
many reviewers complain about the history of the movie not being accurate or truthful; in case you forget, Dracula, the vampire, is all fictitious, so why complain about history?? I don't care if the story is not along the line of the other Dracula stories we know of as long as the story is well told. such a movie shouldn't be taken so seriously; see it as purely entertainment; now back to serious review; to put it simply, I like the movie. Luke Evans is perfectly cast as Dracula. The movie is 90 minute so you wouldn't have everything 'spelled out'. It's reasonably fast paced; the movie has its flaws but minor enough that you can reasonably pass it; the only major flaw that I see and think the movie should work on explaining is how the Sultan knows about Dracula's weaknesses. Dang, Dracula almost got defeated because of the Sultan's knowledge and the director thinks it's not important to dwell on it?? that's why it's only 8 for me.
