Red Sparrow (2018)
Jennifer Laurence sexy
It's a good movie and what makes it better is the sexy flesh of Jennifer Laurence. hmm, delicious. she's so hot she makes it all worthwhile. this is almost an erotic movie. I liked it quite a lot. I would love to see more movies with Jennifer displaying her sexy assets.
Lucía y el sexo (2001)
soft porn that's all
It is simply a soft porn movie. You see hairy bushes, and a couple of cocks, one big and one small/average. A weird scene is when the big cock starts to become erect while caressing the actress's bush with green mud. This scene is very weird and disgusting a lot more than being sexy. The story is a drama with lots of people staring into space when they're not riding cocks and moaning with fake pleasure. Poor.
Not horribly bad
Someone wrote that this is about a promiscuous girl. It is about a promiscuous girl and a promiscuous guy. It's about relationships and how love, excitement and sexual desire ebb and flow with time. Not horrible but not exceptional either. 4 is good enough.
Easy: Open Marriage (2017)
This episode is quite trash. The wife gets penetrated by a stranger and the husband hooks up with a girl at work. They want us to think this is open and honest but it is not. it's trash and they are lying to their children. this series started average but now it's turned into complete filth.
Easy: The F**King Study (2016)
I've seen the overall ratings and some people ranting and raving about it. Well it is not good. It's average at best. The concept is not bad but there could be more drama, more intrigue. The reviews that say boring is accurate. Ignore the general reviews that say it's great. it isn't. Those reviews are fake.
The Affair (2014)
only seasons 1&2 ok.
I liked season 1. A little less season 2. But season 3 was absolute garbage. Really i cannot say enough how nonsensical it was. i cannot even imagine that it was written by the same writers. sometimes it's just best to stop. i expect even less from season 4 i haven't watched it yet and i'm not sure i'm going to. what's more laughable is they're planning a 5th season. seriously. will there be aliens in 5? I wouldn't exclude anything when sense is lost.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
too bad for the night king
I feel sad for the night king. or no not really, but he kind of died quickly and uselessly without us having the closure of why all this has happened? Arya's role in all this is fine, she has stolen the episode indeed. but well done. This epic battle leaves us with questions what next? it's almost as if we've had the climax 5 episodes ahead of the finale.
(500) Days of Summer (2009)
Why this movie isn't good
I always wondered why this movie was highly rated. It is a movie about unrequited love and it is all that this movie is about! it is not exceptional in any way that a movie is not about love but it's about the absence of love. This happens in real life more often than anything else. Unrequited love is prevalent especially among teenagers. To make a whole movie about it, is like watching somebody having constipation for one hour and a half: we know it happens frequently but it's not really what we want to go to the movies for. We want to get out of our reality and be transported into something else. Hence this movie completely misses the objective. It is a failure.
Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)
So sad that good actors like Jon Hamm, Jeff Bridges and Chris Hemsworth had to stoop so low for the money. And it is a shame that this movie got any rating beyond 6. That is misleading. The story was ludicrous, nonsensical. Like any reviewers had written: "please book a room at a different hotel"
Tulip Fever (2017)
On my list of the 10 worst movies of all times
What was that? This story must have been written by a 10 year old. Or worse. A 10 year old would know how to write a better script than this rambling nonsense. It started mediocre but three quarters through it i was praying for it to end hastily, it was so excruciatingly painful to watch this mind-numbing farce. I pity the few good actors who willingly defecated on their career by being accepting the roles. The voice-over was horrible. as was everything else.
on the way back up
Yes finally this episode saves the day, thank goodness. The last few episodes were horrible. The show seems on its way up again, but it's not there yet, so if the writers are reading this, one advice: keep up the effort, don't slack your pace now. The next episode I want a 10/10, understood?
Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall (2017)
Rooting for the night king
The night king is awesome. Actually I am secretly rooting for him although there is little hope he will emerge as the final victor. But one has to admit he has amazing powers. I hope they release season 8 soon.
This word magnificently sums it up: Dracarys! Intense action especially towards the end. This is an incredibly exciting episode.
Tour de force
As good as the previous episode. Respect for Cersei who got her revenge à la Mario Puzo's Godfather. Same for Arya, excellent feat. The only minor negative is that one would have expected to see a bit of the white walkers but admittedly, cramming too much into one episode wouldn't have been good style.
This is what viewers want
This is one of the most satisfying episodes. Having watched many thus far, one can see that there is generally a serious flaw in the way the series is written. The creators do a good job in engaging and mounting the viewers emotions against a villain. They cry out for vengeance however that vengeance doesn't come in good time, and when it comes, it's too late. I know the creators stretch out the series for commercial reasons obviously but by the time we have had several intervening stories and some of the villains actually start redeeming themselves and by the time they get killed, viewers don't feel any real satisfaction from seeing them disappear. However they did a great job in this episode and that justifies the very high rating. I wish the creators would have studied better the psychology of how a reader enjoys a story. They could have gotten even much more from the previous episodes. If creators/writers think that depicting real life as much as possible is what viewers want, they are wrong. It's called fantasy for a good reason. People go into the narrative world to escape the flaws of real life. They seek the satisfaction that real life doesn't give them. And that's what this episode did. And that's what the other episodes didn't do as good.
Another flop of an episode
When I negatively reviewed the previous episodes, all haters attacked me, with no logical reason. And now this week's episodes shows them that I was right all along. This show is going down the gutter. It just turning in circles. And it's obvious that it's done for commercial reasons. It's failing. They have to up their game otherwise they will lose all fans. I, and I'm sure many others, are tired of this going nowhere. See the ratings and reviews of this episode is a proof. Wake up already!
The best episode so far
It's all on the wall. I cried at the end. It was too sad. Too emotional. And damn well the best episode so far. This is not about fighting, although it was all fighting. It is mainly love. The great love Ygritte had for Jon. Despite all her hate, love was at the source of it. I am sad to see her leave the series. She was my favorite female character. Sexy and truly beautiful. 10/10
it is acceptable
Ok I read the negative reviews that were questioning why there were many fillers and what was the use of the talk between Jaime and Tyrion for example. Well that talk was to prove again that there is a strong bond between the brothers. It was useful. The fight was disappointing, I agree. Though not because it was short, but mainly because it was illogical in many ways. For fans with a low IQ, they wouldn't notice the gaping errors, so no bother explaining. Also someone mentioned that whatever happens Lanisters always win. Not true. Don't forget that the Lanisters are fighting each other too.
I liked Lucifer from the outset and for a long time it hasn't been disappointing. However I feel it starts now to lose momentum. I'm afraid if they don't progress things faster and if they keep the obviously expected hanging on, the audience will lose patience and the ratings will consequently drop. This is what happened with another series "the Blacklist": they had the chance to bring it to another level at a certain point but they didn't, they decided to drag it out and milk it further. It was a lost bet as the disappointed viewers lost patience and dropped it. I hope the creators of Lucifer won't make the same mistake.
Game of Thrones (2011)
great show, great suspense
Only recently have I begun watching. I am into the fifth season. The story is great and the acting too. For me Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) is the hero of the series, he steals the spotlight very easily. The other main characters are very good too. I was also happily surprised when I realized that David Benioff was the creator because I had read his excellent novel City of Thieves and I understand now why GOT is as good as it is :). The original book of George R.R. Martin must be also very good since it is the basis of the series. My original rating was 9 however I dropped it down to 7 because I believe (like many viewers) that it capitalized too much on cheap thrills such as graphic gore and violence and sex. There was no need for all that. It could have been as good and even better if it didn't pander too much to the lowest instincts of the worst human scum.
Mad Men (2007)
couldn't stop watching
**DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE WATCHED THE FINAL EPISODE OF THE SERIES** I have watched the final episode of the series today. Mad men is a great series, you will certainly get attached to the characters. I had made a review of the final episode "person to person", when I finished watching it at first I felt disappointed because I thought it was a dud, a letdown; I was thinking to myself "a wonderful series should not end so vaguely", but then after some reflection, online reading, watching interviews with Jon Hamm and also the trivia on IMDb, I realized that the ending was very good and inline with the rest of the series. Also when the series started, I didn't get why Elisabeth Moss (Peggy) was the 2nd from the top on the credits just after Jon Hamm, but as it went along, I realized that indeed she is the star, the chemistry between Don and Peggy although not sexual, is a big part of what drives the series and "the suitcase" episode is arguably the best of the series. There were a few discontinuities in the story line. Although it is not as tight as for example "breaking bad" it is still one of my favorite series ever. The character of Betty was not very likable and ended sadly. Peter's development over the years was nice. His redemption was the goodness of his wife Trudy. I will miss Don, I will miss Peggy and I will certainly miss Roger and his humor and joie de vivre.
Mad Men: Person to Person (2015)
a bit of a dud
I watched the whole series with passion and I loved the story-line, the characters, especially Don, Roger and Peggy, they are great. I feel sad that I won't be seeing them again, when you are engrossed in a series/story, you feel connected to the characters and the separation is sad. The last episode was a bit of a dud though. Although I understand the message the writer(s) wanted to pass, I feel a little bit cheated. It's like he's saying: the 60s were ugly and dirty and the final episode which starts the 70s washes all this up. It shouldn't have been that way. But there is a consistency and it isn't a coincidence that the show ends with the peace and love ad of Coca Cola. Yes, as others have said, this was intended for the viewers to infer that the smile on Don's face is his creative mind still at work and he would come up with the ad based on his final experience. But aren't we tired of shows that end vaguely? I had to read online reviews and interviews with Jon Hamm and Mathiew Weiner to confirm that it was indeed their intended message. It's a pity. But that doesn't diminish the quality of the series as a whole. It's one of the best I've seen in a long time and I have learned a lot from it. Thank you to the writer(s), the director(s) and all the actors. It's been a hell of a ride.
Mad Men: The Suitcase (2010)
Indeed the best episode of the series
I have read a lot of online reviews that this episode is by far the best of the series and the ratings on IMDb confirm this. It is certainly the highlight of the series. The true chemistry in this whole series from season 1 to season 7 is what's between Don and Peggy. It's way more intense and real than any love affair Don had with his women. When I had started watching season 1, I never predicted that Peggy would take such a central role in Mad Men, and she has done it with such charm and ease. Bravo. This episode shows depth, humanity, people could identify with Don, they could identify with Peggy and probably for the first time they could so clearly see the world through their eyes, could feel what they feel. An episode that defines the whole series. lovely.
Never Let Me Go (2010)
I will not repeat what many good reviewers have already mentioned. There is no logic in this movie. Suspension of disbelief OK, but that can be done only when there is some logic to the story, even if the starting premises are unexpected, a certain flowing logic should be there and that's what makes a good science-fiction novel. This one was utter nonsense. In addition, the author tries to catapult himself on the emotional response of the audience (melodrama, sadness, death...). That on its own does not redeem this failure. Such a waste of time and energy.
This is almost a chick flick. Probably few good things: the acting of Gerald McRaney and the sexy curves and beautiful eyes of Margot Robbie. But that doesn't redeem the movie, the plot is silly and if there are any surprises, they are mild and in the end the movie leaves you with nothing to remember it for. It's just one of those very forgettable romantic comedies. If you like those and are satisfied with low-key entertainment then it's fine. But f you're looking for more than this is not your movie.
