I was able to meet Deeptanshu Sinha when both of our student films were selected at the Adrian International Film Festival in the United States, but I found it ironic that this film was in the student category. "Siege" has the visual effects style similar to "Blade Runner" and "Inception", which Deeptanshu told me were big inspirations surrounding the work. This film pushes the boundaries of what a student film can be. The visual effects, setting, plot structure, and acting made it feel like I was watching a big budget Hollywood production, not a film made by a college-aged student. It was a pleasure and honor to meet Deeptanshu and learn how he was able to create such a masterpiece (and yes, he won the best student film award for the festival we were both entered in). I see "Siege" being Deeptanshu's gateway to becoming a big name Hollywood director that has the same stylings as Christopher Nolan and Ridley Scott. There's no doubt I'll be seeing this guy winning an Oscar when he gets older.
