Goofs

The IP address for Tim's high school girl friend that has supposedly hacked into the DOD, 192,168.8.8, is a Local Area Network address. It would not be visible outside of the local area (i.e. hone, school) network. The IP address visible would be the IP address of the Wide Area Network connection, for example, the cable modem attached to the Internet. See more »

Quotes

Ellie Bishop: Can't believe you still have it.
Timothy McGee: Yeah, it's the first PC I ever built. Made me realize that...
Nick Torres: You would never have a girlfriend?
Timothy McGee: Um, I've had plenty of girlfriends, thank you.
Ellie Bishop: Yeah, one even helped him build this.
Timothy McGee: No, actually that was just a girl-dash-friend.
Ellie Bishop: Oh.
Nick Torres: Oh, so, like, pathetic-dash-disturbing.

This episode will go down in history as the worst example of "hacking" depicted on TV. This is worse than the 2 people 1 keyboard incident from earlier in this show's life. For context I am a pentester (ethical hacker) by trade and do a lot of exploit development as well.

Now I love NCIS, it is fairly the same, but the characters are a lot of fun.

This whole premise was silly and I don't want to put any spoilers in. But seriously... this one was rough to watch. Just skip it, you won't be missing anything.
