According to several online sources (Wikipedia, National Geographics, etc.), there is no single point of origin that has been proven. There have been three likely areas where it could have begun: France & the UK, Canada as Chinese labourers were sent there in sealed boxcars to make their way to Europe, and the United States due to an outbreak at an Army camp (Fort Riley) in Kansas in March, 1918 where over 500 men contracted the virus, killing 48.
