Storyline

Hans Christian Andersen is chiefly known for his fairy tales but he was also an exceptionally sensitive travel reporter: In 1841, the Danish writer sets off for the Orient, to the home of fairy tales. He is overwhelmed by the enormous city of Constantinople, the Stambul of the Turks and Andersen captures his experiences enthusiastically, impartially, humorously and romantically.
