Viago, Deacon and Vladislav are vampires who are finding that modern life has them struggling with the mundane - like paying rent, keeping up with the chore wheel, trying to get into nightclubs and overcoming flatmate conflicts.
Detective Inspector Rabbit, a dedicated, tough, thick and oft inebriated Victorian copper, sleuths his way across London with his two young partners, a doofy rookie, and a brilliant black policewoman no one ever believes.
I adore the movie, What We Do in the Shadows. Because of my adoration for the film version, I was excited to see what they would do with a TV version. Based on the first episode, it appears as though the series takes place within the same kind of universe as the movie, but is totally different. The dark, dry humor is the same, but there's new characters, a new location, and different plot lines. This is great news to me because although the movie was perfect, it'd be rather dull to just rewatch the same thing again with new actors. I think they set up a great pilot that introduced the audience to some interesting and quirky characters and had the same feel as the movie. **********
