Strife is deliberately and successfully maximized by the Frost triplet sisters, as they promised to the hedge fund plotter, then they offer a deal to bring down Sentinel together, which culminates mutant division. Reed Strucker decides it's time to evacuate his family to Mexico, against the finally integrated twins' wishes, but the half-way safe-house turns out to be run by Wes, whom they adore, and comes under siege by a new Sentinel strike team, as Dr. Roderick Campbell convinces Jace to field his program's 'combined freak weapons'.

When Sophie, Phoebe, and Esme meet with the mysterious "William" in his office in an attempt to secure their position with the infamous Hellfire Club, they are given a diamond as a peace offering and as funds to continue their mission. It is significant that they are given a diamond because in the comic book Emma Frost, whom the Stepford Cuckoos or "Frost" Sisters (Sophie, Phoebe, and Esme) are clones of, could also transform herself into a diamond in addition to her powerful telepathic abilities.
