Dark, gritty, powerful drama.
2 July 2018 | by Sleepin_DragonSee all my reviews

The light, softer, almost melodramatic tone of the opening episode seems a million miles away after watching this fourth part, which was gritty, intense, so dark at times it was almost an uncomfortable watch.

I was told the series would change mid way, and that's very much the case, the action, story, even music have all transformed. That dramatic peak comes in the scene where Faith is terrified in her car, a very bleak, but powerful scene.

Myles gives her best performance to date, she was incredible, well supported, particularly I thought by Eiry Thomas, who plays DI Williams with some quality.

My only hope is the success of this series will trigger more Hinterland.

Excellent, 9/10
