After a deadly plague kills most of the world's population, the remaining survivors split into two groups - one led by a benevolent elder and the other by a maleficent being - to face each other in a final battle between good and evil.
Five strangers converge at a haunted movie theater owned by The Projectionist (Mickey Rourke). Once inside, the audience members witness a series of screenings showing them their deepest fears and darkest secrets over five tales.
If you grew up in the 80s then you're bound to remember how these small promotional pieces were usually made to try and sell movies. When viewing them at the time you really had to judge them on how well it sold the picture. This one here does a decent job at selling John Carpenter's THE THING but I must be honest and say that there's really nothing here that would make people want to rush out and see the picture unless they were already a fan of Carpenter. When viewing this nine-minute special today you can't help but really love it as it gives you an interview with Carpenter who discusses the original film and what he wanted to do with the remake. We also get an interview with Kurt Russell and production manager John Lloyd. Best of all is that there's some nice behind-the-scenes footage of a couple scenes being shot as well as the cast arriving on set.
