Every Notable TV Show Coming To Disney Plus On Day One

The Mouse House launches its Disney Plus streaming service this November, offering arguably the biggest rival to Netflix’s dominance in the field to date. Much has been discussed about Disney’s original content coming to the platform, such as The Mandalorian, the first ever live-action Star Wars show, and all those Marvel series that will fit into the McU. What’s not to be overlooked, though, is the huge back catalogue of titles that the studio has ready to go on the site from day one.

Russi Taylor, who voiced various animated characters including Disney’s Minnie Mouse, died Friday in Glendale, Calif., our sister site Deadline reports. She was 75.

Taylor brought the iconic mouse to life for more than 30 years, in TV shows, movies, theme-park attractions and other Disney endeavors. As recently as this year, she voiced the character in Mickey and the Roadster Racers and some Mickey Mouse shorts.

Russi Taylor, Voice Actress Behind Minnie Mouse, Dies at 75
Russi Taylor, the voice actress behind the famed Disney character Minnie Mouse, died Friday in Glendale, California, the Walt Disney Company confirmed. She was 75.

“Minnie Mouse lost her voice with the passing of Russi Taylor. For more than 30 years, Minnie and Russi worked together to entertain millions around the world—a partnership that made Minnie a global icon and Russi a Disney Legend beloved by fans everywhere, said Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger. “We’re so grateful for Russi’s talent as well as the tremendous spirit and great joy she brought to everything she did. It was a privilege to have known her and an honor to have worked with her, and we take comfort in the knowledge that her work will continue to entertain and inspire for generations to come. Russi will be sorely missed and our hearts go out to her family and friends, along with our deepest condolences.

Mickey and the Roadster Racers: Season Three Ordered by Disney Junior; Season Two Debuts in April

There's always good news coming from the House of Mouse, and here's some for your little ones. Disney Junior has renewed its animated Mickey and the Roadster Racers TV show for a third season, with a start date Tbd. The early season three renewal comes just a month shy of the Mickey and the Roadster Racers season two premiere, on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 9:30am Et/Pt. Real-life racers Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon are returning for season two of Mickey and the Roadster Racers , along with Jay Leno, Jane Leeves, Kate Micucci, Tia Carrere, and Patton Oswalt. The second season guest star voice cast also includes Guillermo del Toro, Alice Cooper, Mario Andretti, Stephen Fry, Sabrina Carpenter, Camilla Belle, Andrea Martin, Takuma Sato, and Pippa Mann. Winners of the 45th annual Annie Awards were revealed on Feb. 3, 2018 at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles, California. Pixar‘s Oscar frontrunner “Coco” won all 11 of its races. Its main Academy Awards rival, “The Breadwinner,” won just one of its 10 bids. Hoda Kotb Says Lending Her Voice to Mickey and the Roadster Racers Is a Dream Come True
Hoda Kotb is tapping into a southern accent for her latest role.

The Today co-anchor lends her voice to a new character, Mrs. Sweetums, during a guest appearance on Disney Junior’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers.

“Mrs. Sweetums is southern, and she just is ’cause she’s sweet as sugar,” Kotb says in a behind-the-scenes clip about her experience recording for the show.

“She runs this beautiful candy shop full of colors of smells and sweetness, and she is this sweet woman who just loves everybody,” adds the 53-year-old, who is mom to 10-month-old daughter Haley Joy.
