Maura and Ali embark on a new mission while they're in Israel, most specifically to delve into a possible part of their past. Beyond discovering if who they're looking into truly is who Maura believes, she may not get all the answers she wants while discovering something directly related to what she's going through in the transition to being a woman. Meanwhile, Sarah and Len speak to Lila about the idea of writing a book on what seems to be their joint perspective of child rearing. In the process, they discover more that they would like to embark on in a joint venture of a more personal nature. Josh continues to be haunted by Rita as he comes to terms with his sex life and the role that relationship with Rita had on the person he is. And Shelly believes she's discovered her voice in improv class, that voice which she tests in public and which makes her feel empowered.
