Leading up to the accident it's revealed that Amberley is traveling to the "National Western" to work in a booth. The way the characters are dressed, the conversation about JC's recent baseball game, and the fact that Cory is on a trip with the team he manages all suggest that she is taking the trip in the spring; however, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo is held in January. Based on the true story of one of rodeo's most beloved athletes, this movie is wonderful. It is very heartwarming, but be prepared because it will make you cry. The obstacles this girl overcame is nothing short of amazing.
