Storyline

Dean convinces "Castiel", who is still Lucifer, to send him back in time to the last reported sighting of the Hand of God which could be useful as a weapon against Amara. Lucifer sees the potential in getting his hands on this weapon so goes along with it and sends Dean to 1944 to the fated submarine mission that sunk the Hand of God. Meanwhile, continuing his charade with Sam while they wait for Dean's return, Lucifer plans his next move.

Goofs

Facial hair was NOT authorized in the Navy or any other branch of service in WWII. Beards were briefly allowed under ADM Nimitz decades later.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: while technically not authorized, facial hair was certainly worn by men of all services during WWII. In a war zone, there were other, overriding considerations, and few commanders worried about beards. See more »

Dean Winchester: A little early for Nazi trivia, especially without caffeine.

"Letters" legacies from other Countries
24 February 2016 | by jldowling-63018See all my reviews

I cannot overemphasize how much more dimension has been added to the show by the "Bunker" and the "Men of Letters" elements. I LOVE that bunker for the Boys - it's a home, it's (mostly) protected, and it's a vast resource of history and knowledge for them to draw from. It just gives me warm fuzzies when I see the boys there.

I also believe the show has a LOT more to explore with Men and Women of Letters from other countries. The young woman who was a legacy from Ireland, and now Delphine from France - yes! Why not have the boys go on a joint mission somewhere overseas with one of their Letters brethren???? Demons and Rakshasas and Rugarus can't ALL be in the U.S. Aren't the Kitsunes from Japan? I also loved the storyline with the Jewish Golem and the Thule Society and the Judah Initiative! Let's go overseas with Supernatural!!!
