In the series finale; the evil machine, Samaritan. launches a cruise missile at the (fictional) satellite dish on the rooftop of 1133 Avenue of the Americas, NYC, NY and destroys the rooftop. In fact, a US Navy ship off the coast of NYC would launch a real Raytheon SM-6 missile and destroy the cruise missile shorty after it was launched and long before it got anywhere near NYC. The SM-6 missile has shot down test cruise missiles and it's deployed on many US Navy surface ships. However it is conceivable that just as Samaritan took control of the USS Garner to launch the cruise missile, it also could have taken control of any and all US Navy ships in the area to prevent the missile from being shot down.
