Storyline

Cassel's brigands continue to slaughter visitors to Versailles including the king's god-daughter though Fabien has his suspicions as to their identity and arrests a likely suspect, aiming to trap the murderers. Philippe is declared a hero, following his actions at the siege of Cambrai and Louis sends his brother's lover the Chevalier to join him though not before Chevalier has played the king's mistresses against him as several ambitious women arrive at court. Louis visits his brother on the eve of a battle and is taught that, of the two of them, Philippe is clearly the better soldier. Written by don @ minifie-1

The Road

Moncour with the help of Cassel is getting the hang of the highwayman robbery lark but when he botches up the killing of the the Parthenays, a family dear to Louis, Cassel is unhappy and Louis is seething. His guard however has a likely suspect in mind and plans to lay a trap.

However there are no shortage of women to be potential mistresses to comfort Louis. If they cannot marry him then at least they are willing to settle for his patronage and some time in his bed.

In the battlefield near Cambrai, Philippe was sent to fight by Louis with the connivance of Philippe's own wife in the hope that he might come to a sticky end. His lover refused to join him, in Philippe's absence at court, the lover found pleasure elsewhere as well as doing some of his own scheming.

Well would you believe it, bisexual and cross dressing Philippe has taken to this fighting malarkey like a duck to water and Louis certainly does not seem happy when he hears about his brother's heroic exploits in the battlefield. So much so that he quickly holds peace talks and tells Philippe that the fighting is over, the news that does not sit well with him.

If you are in the right mood and never take it all seriously the series is fun but maybe not all in a good way. Some people just turn up as old friends you do not know who they are and the series now has men as well as women who kind of look indistinguishable to other members of the cast.

It is good to see the doctor's daughter to be so well ahead of her time in medical science as well.
