The Major Crimes division faces a new challenge as they work to solve the murder of a dog that was left a twenty million dollar estate by its deceased owner. With the help of wannabe detective Jonathan Baird, aka Dick Tracy, the case takes a new turn as the squad begins to suspect foul play in the death of the dog's owner, a wealthy heiress.

The plot is likely a play on the real-life story of Leona Helmsley, who bequeathed $12 million to her Maltese, "Trouble," in 2007. Like the dog in the story, Trouble the dog was also pampered by his millionaire owner, which often included feeding him crabcakes. See more
