compassion for men
2 November 2016 | by LorettaBreuningSee all my reviews

This is a sweet and thoughtful look at the challenges men face. It's a welcome alternative to the anti-male hostility that my fellow women have always pushed on me. I knew there was more to the story, and this documentary presents it in a practical and kind-spirited way. Viewers who are accustomed to the polarized climate in which these issues are typically discussed may be pleasantly surprised. I left with a deep appreciation of our common humanity, and my husband did too. There is not intent to demean women at all. But if a person has already learned to believe they are demeaned, this movie can help a person rewire that automatic response. I am not advocating the lose-lose idea that we're all victims. It's healthier to simply recognize that we all struggle because life is finite and our brains are wired to seek. (I'm OK, you're OK is much better than I'm not OK, you're not OK!)
