Gene, Louise, and Tina discover a seaweed-covered object at the beach that turns out to be a large hunk of Ambergris - an extremely valuable, but illegal, by-product of whale poop that is used in high-end perfumes. But Louise tries to cheat Gene and Tina out of the profit she hopes to make by selling the treasure on the black market. Meanwhile, Bob and Linda deal with their psychologically unstable landlord who is building them a new bathroom.
The kids find a huge, smelly but aromatic lump on the beach. Research reveals it is ambergris, formed by a sperm whale when it ingests a squid. Ambergris is expensive because whales are endangered and it is illegal to buy or sell but it is used in items from perfume to breakfast foods. Calvin Fischoeder's brother, Felix, is their new landlord rep; he turns a simple sink repair into an entirely new loo. Louise is determined to sell the ambergris and get rich quick. Bob is equally determined his customers shall have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of feculence.
