Tove Lo Plays Dramatic New Song ‘Sweettalk My Heart’ on ‘Seth Meyers’

Tove Lo Plays Dramatic New Song ‘Sweettalk My Heart’ on ‘Seth Meyers’
Tove Lo performed a shadowy version of her sleek new single “Sweettalk My Heart” on Wednesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers.

The singer opened dramatically, singing the minor-key electro-pop tune with the backing band nearly hidden behind her on a dimly lit platform. She swiveled as the song swelled — from an electric piano progression that recalls the silky, rolling keys from Bruce Hornsby’s “The Way It Is” to a grooving, percussive chorus with belted vocals.

“Sweeter than love/Is the taste of all those promises that pulls you in for good,

‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 14 Finale: And the Winner Is… (Video)

  • The Wrap
America’s certainly got talent — this summer, mostly in the form of Kodi Lee. The singer-songwriter beat the other nine finalists (and a whole bunch more before that) to be crowned the 2019 “America’s Got Talent” champion.

The second part of NBC’s two-hour Season 14 finale aired Wednesday night, when Lee was named the winner. The Detroit Youth Choir was the runner-up.

Lee, who is blind and autistic, wowed the judges all season long. During the finale, he teamed up with pop star Leona Lewis, who won “The X Factor U.K.” in 2006.

Other guests performers during the finale included Macklemore, reggaeton star Ozuna, pianist Lang Lang, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Cher.

Magician Shin Lim won the million-dollar prize and a Las Vegas residency last summer.

Watch Midland Sing Carefree ‘Playboys’ on ‘Seth Meyers’

Midland sang one for the music-making ramblers on Tuesday’s episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, where they performed “Playboys.” The song originally appears on the country trio’s 2019 album Let It Roll.

With their uniquely flamboyant sense of style, Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy (who skips his shirt buttons entirely for this appearance) and Jess Carson put a little bit of outlaw bounce into “Playboys,” which they wrote with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. And the seemingly untethered, road-romanticizing life of the outlaw country greats is something to be

Watch the Hold Steady Play Rousing ‘Denver Haircut’ on ‘Seth Meyers’
The Hold Steady played a rousing version of their single “Denver Haircut” on Tuesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers.

The Brooklyn sextet captured a faithful version of the track, a trademark blast of crunching guitars, clattering cymbals and frontman Craig Finn’s clever lyrics about a “cesspool” town. “He shaved his head at the airport/In a bar at the end of the concourse,” he deadpanned over the din. “He said, ‘You’re kind of catching me at a transitional time/I’m a bright light burning into a dark horse.

Cma Awards leader Maren Morris on her sweet revenge after ‘American Idol’ rejected her and made her cry [Watch]
From humble beginnings, Maren Morris has done pretty well for herself. She recently appeared on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” to discuss the early gigs she performed at county fairs and even on hay bales in parking lots, but also how she auditioned for — and was rejected by — every reality competition show under the sun. She recounted an especially painful experience trying to get on “American Idol.” Watch her tell her horror story above.

“I have this very traumatic, vivid memory of auditioning for ‘American Idol,'” she told Meyers. She tried out for the show when she was 17 and living in Dallas. “It was at the Cowboys’ stadium. And you don’t see [judges] Paula and Simon and Randy in the first go audition. It’s like a stadium cattle call and you audition for, like, a 20-year-old producer who has probably no music cred. You just sing for eight
