Man up and throw out all those bits that just aren't funny enough
29 December 2017 | by frukukSee all my reviews

Having watched one half (episodes 1,2 and 6) of series 4, and having watched episodes from earlier series, Man Up still seems to be a programme with a far too lenient approach to quality control.

From the ending to the final episode of series 4, it looks like there will be a series 5. If so, I do hope someone will encourage the two writers, Greg Davies and Stephen Morrison, to rope in a more experienced writer who has the balls to tell them that much of what they write is ... just ... not ... funny ... enough.

It may be that a side-effect of never having warmed to Greg Davies's character, is that I find this much less funny than it actually is. But I don't think this is the case: I think it genuinely and simply isn't funny enough.
