Chuyín Venegas and Cornelio Barraza were the biggest stars in the music and movie industry during the eighties. As Los Jilgueros del Rosarito, they had no match, but after ten years of fame and success, they decided to part ways. Years later, Chuyín lives locked up in a Mansion in Paris and is about to launch a new CD and go on an international tour. However, the ghosts of his past and the loneliness of his future, make Chuyín change his plans and he decides to go back to the town where Cornelio and him lived when they were children, to embark on the last musical adventure of Los Jilgueros del Rosarito. A movie for the whole family coming to theatres soon.

The role of the fictional legendary film producer Bruno Sánchez Félix was conceived from the beginning to be played by some bigger-than-life actor or iconic figure of the film industry. An invitation was extended to legendary real-life producer Guillermo Calderón (I), uncle of Volando bajo's editor Viviana García-Besné, but it was not possible for him due to age concerns. Instead, he gave permission to use footage of his produced-by film La venganza de la llorona (1974) in an important childhood scene of Volando bajo. And the role of Bruno Sánchez Félix ended being incarnated by another real-life legend, Javier López (I) better known for many generations as "Chabelo". See more
