It's May, four months since Cathy entered the hospice. She still wants to get all her affairs in order before she passes, which seems to be soon as she can no longer walk, has constantly blurry vision, and is in constant pain even with the morphine. There are things that Cathy can't control, however. She knows that she will not see Adam graduate, as he still has one more year of classes, that is if he even passes the ones he's currently taking. She has no assurances what the afterlife holds for her or anyone who passes, although she does try to cover all the bases. And she can't control exactly when she will die, she trying to will it after each special moment, that dying moment which she feels will define how others view her after she's gone. She will find that there are other things she can't control as witnessed by news she gets from the hospice. In that regard, she asks Sean for a favor, she having chosen him largely because of his decision to donate a kidney to a total stranger. ...
