Proving Innocence
22 July 2014 | by Alex_HodgkinsonSee all my reviews

All evidence points to dragons causing havoc across Berk, but Hiccup believes they are innocent and that there is another force at work. When Toothless is blamed for damaging the town and Stoick makes a final harsh decision, Hiccup decides to find the real culprit behind the chaos.

This episode seems to be part one of a loose two parts. It makes me wonder if this is the end for Mildew, the man who's been against the dragons since the start, and his schemes. 'In Dragons We Trust' again shows the bond between Hiccup and Toothless and shows how the Vikings of Berk still don't trust the dragons at all. Hiccup still shows devoted love for them and trusts them more than any other Viking on Berk.

The episode is strong, having a sense of finality a couple of plot lines; them being Stoick's warnings to Hiccup about the dragons and Mildew's mischievous attitude. Hopefully part two will put an end to these and we can focus on something else.

I debated on whether to give this episode an eight or a nine, as the animation is as good as ever and the story is strong with great development in some areas. In the end I chose eight, closing in on nine.
