Primal: Genndy Tartakovsky Series Reveals First Look at Sdcc 2019

Alec Bojalad Jul 20, 2019

Adult Swim has ordered Primal, a prehistoric animated series from Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky.

More than anyone, Adult Swim knows that animation can take you to a wide variety of times and places. So for the networks's next offering, they're going all the way back to pre-history.

According to Deadline, Adult Swim has ordered Primal, a new animated series from Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky. Primal will feature a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur at the brink of extinction. The two creatures, one on the way out and one on the way in, will forge an unlikely friendship and try to survive this dangerous world.

Primal will be a return to Adult Swim for Tartakovsky. The respected animator has spent recent years at Sony crafting the Hotel Transylvania films. Just last year he struck a deal with Sony to

Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell Season 4 Review (Spoiler-Free)

Adult Swim’s premiere Satanic workplace comedy is back for more outrageous takes on Hades’ most incompetent demons!

Hell used to be an untouchable area for television, let alone for comedies, but the medium has grown receptive over the years. Horror has exploded on television since Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell officially premiered on Adult Swim back in 2013. The series has never shied away from the aggressive material that dominates damnation, but the rest of TV has slowly risen to its twisted level.

This series always delivers a feast for the senses, but it’s been two years since the conclusion of season three and this fourth season wrapped production well over a year ago, so it’s great to finally see these new episodes get released. Perhaps it has a lot to do with the absence between seasons, but Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell

Stan Against Evil Season 3 Episode 4 Review: The Demon Who Came In From the Heat

Stan Against Evil plays some trust exercises with its audience when unexpected friendships and homicides threaten the status quo.

This Stan Against Evil review contains spoilers.

Stan Against Evil Season 3 Episode 4

“Because he likes it…”

Stan and Evie exhibit a certain resilience with their continued efforts to thwart the evil that visits Willard’s Mill, but “The Demon Who Came In From the Heat” is an episode of Stan Against Evil that’s all about getting burnt out. This angle plagues Stan in regards to his demon fighting, it strikes Bill with how he simply isa demon, and even Eccles isn’t free of this pain and feels frustration with how he still needs to hunt down Stan after all of this time.

Stan’s malaise and frustration over the state of Willard’s Mill is nothing new to the series, but this is arguably the first time that his

How Mandy Got Its Infamous Cheddar Goblin

How Mandy Got Its Infamous Cheddar Goblin
Nicolas Cage hasn't starred in a lot of critically acclaimed movies as of late, but that has changed with the release of Mandy. The movie comes from the mind of director Panos Cosmatos who has crafted a bizarre, violent, twisted and downright crazy yet entertaining movie that has helped put Cage back on the map in a good way. But it's not the Leaving Las Vegas star who actually steals the show. It's the Cheddar Goblin; a fake 80s mac and cheese mascot that has taken the internet by storm.

If you haven't yet seen Mandy, there's a scene early on in the movie, which is set in the early 1980s. After a tragic event, Nicolas Cage's character watches a TV commercial for a fake brand of macaroni and cheese. The Cheddar Goblin serves as its mascot, who throws up buckets of his product all over some unsuspecting children. He

Watch: ‘Too Many Cooks’ Creator Takes Aim at Gaming Culture and Streamers in New Video

Here's a weird story to read/write while watching Summer Games Done Quick 2018: It's been over three years since the late-night arrival of Adult Swim's bizarro short Too Many Cooks, a meta montage that was the brainchild of Casper Kelly. This time, rather than revisiting pseudo-nostalgic sitcoms and their theme songs, Kelly takes on gamer culture and live-streamers in a new video. Created, produced, written and directed by both Kelly and Nick Gibbons (Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell), the new short debuted in the wee hours of the morning, and was …

Why Hollywood Awards Are Failing Independent TV

You know you’re a TV nerd when your most anticipated awards announcements are the Writers Guild Awards. TV is a writer’s medium. Every TV fan awaits the Emmys, and some even bother to care about the Golden Globes, but most don’t know the major Guilds give out statues to television producers.

Nerdier still, I’m most interested in the nominees almost nobody writes about: web original short form comedies and dramas.

So while you probably could not imagine my disappointment when the WGA released their nominees for original short-form new media this year,

This Sunday, Adult Swim kicks Halloween off a little early with two very trippy, creepy, and just plain strange premieres for Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell Season 3 and its newest series, Dream Corp LLC. Your Pretty Face seems to be the darker of the two, especially since it actually takes place in Hell. If you haven’t caught the first two seasons of the show, you should still be able to follow

Iggy Pop and Jim Jarmusch on Ultimate Stooges Doc 'Gimme Danger'

Iggy Pop and Jim Jarmusch on Ultimate Stooges Doc 'Gimme Danger'
When the Stooges split up in 1974, they had every reason to think they'd be completely forgotten by history. Their debut LP peaked at Number 106 in 1969 – and that was their best seller. They spent their final shows dodging beer bottles hurtled by angry bikers that had little interest in seeing a wild, shirtless singer named Iggy Pop screaming out songs like "Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell" and "Open Up and Bleed." Soon after splitting, guitarist Ron Asheton and his brother, drummer Scott Asheton, moved back in with their parents.

Per the official synopsis, the series is “an absurd comedy set in a neglected dream therapy facility. Each week desperate patients have their dreams recorded and analyzed by Dream Corp’s absent-minded professor, Dr. Roberts (Jon Gries), and his team of unremarkable scientists.”

Created by Daniel Stessen (who won the 2013 SXSW Grand Jury Award for his animated short “The Gold Sparrow”), the series is a hybrid in more ways than one, using a mix of live-action footage and rotoscoped animation to capture the divide between dreams and reality. The effect created leads to a

Adult Swim Renews Freshman Comedy 'Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell'

Adult Swim announced it will renew Dave Willis and Caspar Kelly's workplace comedy "Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell."
