In a remote town in Ireland, eleven-year-old Niamh finds herself the sole survivor of a bloody massacre that killed her parents and younger brother. Suspecting a gang of homicidal vandals, the police ignore Niamh's explanation that the house is the culprit. To help ease her trauma, dutiful neighbors Nat and Lucas take her in with the supervision of a social worker. This film is not the usual American type of film, where without a good reason people are getting killed by monsters etc. We are full of such films, where viruses or freaks are starting an endless bloodbath and what is more, Christianity in most situations will save those who believe.
In the contrary, this film is giving a horror point of view in a very serious matter concerning upbringing. This matter is not analyzed only by the writer's mind. In the film, serious effort is given in presenting the viewer the sharp and usually detailed criticism or - say better - detailed experience of those who are getting raised...
