‘This Is Us’ Co-Showrunners Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger Launch New 20th TV-Based Production Company
Exclusive: This Is Us co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger are expanding their relationship with 20th Century Fox TV, forming new studio-based production company The Walk-Up Company as part of their continuing overall deal. They’ve also named former Comedy Central exec Adam Londy as head of development.

“20th has believed in us since the very beginning – they gave us our first professional writing job and offered us a blind script deal when we literally had no idea what that term meant,” said Aptaker and Berger. “We are beyond excited to be expanding our relationship with Dana, Craig, Carolyn, Howard and their exceptional teams. We’ve brought on the wonderful Adam Londy to spearhead our development and plan to use this opportunity to bring heartfelt, funny, human stories into the world.”

Aptaker and Berger will continue as co-showrunners with Dan Fogelman on NBC’s flagship drama series This Is Us and develop projects for the studio.

‘This Is Us’ Creator Dan Fogelman Inks Mega-Deal With Disney’s 20th TV
This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman has signed a massive five-year overall deal that will keep him in the fold at 20th Century Fox Television.

Sources tell Variety that the pact is worth somewhere in the $125 million range. Under the new deal, Fogelman will continue to develop drama, live-action and animated comedy projects. Fogelman previously signed a four-year deal with the TV studio in 2015, following a bidding war after his exit from ABC Studios.

The transaction, brokered by Wme, is also understood to involve a separate deal involving accelerated payments of Fogelman’s profit participation stake in “This Is Us,” which 20th TV produces for NBC, that could be worth as much as nine figures over time.

Fogelman was hotly pursued by numerous heavy hitters, but is said to have favored staying with 20th TV because of his close relationship with Dana Walden, who now oversees ABC and Disney Television Studios which encompasses 20th TV.

Dan Fogelman Inks Mega New Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox Television
This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman is staying put at 20th Century Fox TV, signing a massive new five-year deal with the studio behind the hit NBC drama.

Under the pact, Fogelman will continue to help steer This Is Us, which is headed into its fourth season, and develop new series for the studio, now owned by Disney, through his Rhode Island Ave. Productions. (This Is Us has bot been renewed by NBC but that is considered a formality.)

Fogelman was one of the biggest names on 20th TV’s roster to come into play this year. It was important for the studio to step up to keep him and it did so. No one would comment but I hear Fogelman’s new deal is in the nine figures.

This is the latest big overall deal announced by 20th TV since its acquisition by Disney (along with other key 21st Century Fox

‘This Is Us’: Tim Jo Set As Recurring Character For Season 3
Tim Jo is set to recur throughout season three of NBC’s hit drama This Is Us as Jae-Won.

Jo first appeared on the October 30 episode titled “Kamsahamnida” where he confronted Randall (Sterling K. Brown) for using the Korean community in his neighborhood as a political scheme to get votes for his campaign. After hashing it out, the two ended up developing a rapport and at the end of the episode, Jae-Won became his campaign manager. No further details were given about the future of his character, but he will appear in future episodes during the third season of the Emmy-winning NBC drama.

The Korean term “kamsahamnida” translates to “thank you” and is the only Korean word Randall knows. The episode ended up being a turning point for Brown’s character and incorporated the Asian American actor into the diverse narrative of This Is Us.

‘Single Parents’ Gets Full-Season Order By ABC

Through its first three episodes, Single Parents is averaging a 1.6 adults 18-49 Live+3 rating and 5.6 million viewers. Still, ahead of its fourth outing tonight, Single Parents continues to be sliding in the ratings though it showed signs of stabilizing in Week 3. Its demo deliveries for

‘This Is Us’ Bosses on Why They Keep Jack’s Urn in Their Office
When Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger moved into their new office at the start of the second season of NBC’s “This Is Us,” they brought in furniture conducive to their individual work styles. “I love sitting at a desk and Elizabeth almost never does,” says Aptaker. “She’s always on the couch with her laptop, and I sit at this massive desk by myself.” They also filled the space with mementos to “make it [somewhere] we want to be,” Berger adds. After all, working on the 18-episode family drama has them spending as much, if not more, time there than in their respective homes.

Origin Story

Aptaker and Berger met in a dramatic writing class during their freshman year at NYU and quickly bonded over each other’s work, Berger says. They received a grant to make a pilot, which they shot at the East Village walk-up they also shared.

Exclusive: Get Your Tissues Ready! 'This Is Us' Composer Reveals His Secret to Making You Cry
This Is Us is in rarefied air, thanks to compelling storytelling, heartbreaking performances and tear-jerking twists. But the most underrated ingredient to its incalculable success is something that’s right under everyone’s nose: the score. Composer Siddhartha Khosla, of Goldspot fame, is the man responsible for opening up those tear ducts -- not that the show needed the help.

Khosla has deep ties to This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, with whom he attended University of Pennsylvania more than two decades ago. After dipping his toe in television scoring with Fogelman’s acerbic alien comedy, The Neighbors, it was almost a no-brainer when his college pal floated him an early script for This Is Us last spring seeking out his thoughts.

“It was thoughtful, beautiful [and] honest. It made you cry,” Khosla recalls in a chat with Et. “It pulled at your heartstrings in a really beautiful way and inspired me to write. That was the
