--Not born into genre --Friday the 13th --Teen films --Magic tricks --Freddy and Jason
Entertaining interview with Sean S. Cunningham who is best remembered for unleashing Friday THE 13TH onto the public in 1980 but also eight years earlier producing Wes Craven's LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. Cunningham is pretty open talking about his career and how it all shaped up. It's funny to think that if a kid's television show had taken off that Friday THE 13TH might not have happened. Cunningham also talks about some of the original plans for a Freddy versus Jason film (this interview was before the actual film was made) and why it falling apart led to JASON GOES TO HELL and JASON X. Cunningham talks highly of JASON X (which wasn't released yet) and says why they decided to travel into space. The producer also talks about some of his smaller movies and the double-edged sword that happens when you have a popular film. The F13 sequels are also discussed even though Cunningham had very little to actually do with them. Fans of Cunningham will enjoy this chat as there are several good stories and of course there's plenty of talk about the most famous slasher out there.
