Crixus enjoys training Naevia and the other recruits. Spartacus decides against revenge for his late wife on her murderer Glaber's Ilythia, whom Gannicus captured, even before she makes a credible claim that he's her unborn child's biological father. She pleads with temple host Lucius Caelius to ask restitution of Sulla's confiscation and help from praetor Glaber, but his hatred wins out. Seppie now acts virtually as Glaber's wife. Ashur enjoys plundering, torture-questioning and, even more, treating discredited Lucretia as his sex slave. Written by KGF Vissers

Did You Know?

Ilithyia encountered quite the conundrum when it came to Spartacus. Because of what he symbolized for her husband Glaber, she was always resolved to hate him; his transference into slavery only "fanning the flame" as her status caused her to grimace at those beneath her. (the "battle lines" were very clear.) But her intimate encounter with him changed all of that because not only did she thoroughly enjoy being with a man that she hated, but she longed for the like of it again. This brought her much shame and self loathing. When she comes face to face with him at Vesuvius, she was for the first time completely helpless and without protector; forced to listen and at his mercy. She was in a sense "compelled" to see him as a man, which was something she never wanted to picture him as even though she fantasizes about him in secret. See more »
