Trivia

When Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad) is showing the alien message to Brenner (Adam Sandler), he shows him a clip from the hit television show One Tree Hill (2003) starring Danneel Ackles as Rachel Gatina. Danneel and Josh have been good friends since they starred in the film Mardi Gras: Spring Break (2011). See more »

Goofs

The aliens seem to want to play fair and are unhappy when the humans cheat by using cheat codes. However, they do not give the humans any method of participating in the game to defeat them. Or do they? The government learned how to fight aliens by studying some "cubes" that the aliens just left lying around Guam, even though the attackers themselves were pure energy. Perhaps they did it deliberately, to give humans a fighting chance. In any case, since the aliens believe the humans declared war on them, they must believe that humans already know how to fight back and don't need any help. See more »

User Reviews

Yes its ridiculous but funny and entertaining.
25 July 2015 | by tdr-91443See all my reviews

I want to start off by saying that, I have never reviewed a movie before. I felt compelled to do so due to the bad rep this movie appears to be receiving. The bottom line is it was comical and entertaining. The idea though ridiculous, was at least fresh to all the movies being produced today appearing to be recycled from other movies. It kind of reminds me of the original Hot Tub Machine movie that was unexpectedly a fresh idea and was entertaining. Like that movie , there were parts of this movie that were just plain funny and amusing. The movie theater I was in most people laughed multiple times, I can not remember another movie (recently) where the majority of the moviegoers were noticeably laughing. I enjoyed the movie for a new idea and found it to be entertaining. Isn't that what a movie is suppose to be?
