Pierce thinks that one of his students didn't write the paper he submitted. So he tells Haley who doesn't want to jump the gun. Pierce thinks it's because the student is an athlete. Haley gets a call who tells Pierce, his concern needs to wait because a student was killed. So Kate goes and they try to find out who wanted to kill her. Pierce gets the student to admit he didn't write the paper which means he'll be expelled but when he has a seizure Pierce learns why he was unable to do his schoolwork and tries to get him help. He then tries to find out who wrote the student's paper and with Lewicki's help discovers who it is. And learns he's written dozens of papers. And he did it with the help of a drug that was developed on campus for the Department of Defense so that soldiers can stay awake longer. Problem is that it also led to fits of rage. Pierce suspects who killed the student may have been taking the drug too.
