As always you can plan as much as you want to (be it the romantic kind or the other kind), there is a big possibility things won't play as thought they did. This is true to every character in this story. Even if you know what the inciting incident is, it might still surprise you, because of the impact it has and the power it has on screen.
Malin Ackerman has a lot of fun playing the lead female role, though her character is a bit of plain overall. But the humor is as dark as it gets and there is a lot of coincidences to swallow too. If you can live with all those things, you will have a comedy that does not take any prisoners and is decent enough to entertain
