Ugly Americans
5 March 2011 | by Bronco46See all my reviews

This was an interesting episode; a lot different from the others. They haven't spent much time digging in wooded areas mush less semi-marsh areas like these. The meteorites that were found this time were quite interesting as well. Interesting shapes and colors. The locals were very nice people and for amateur very knowledgeable. When the hosts were separated from their equipment their host's lent them some of theirs to use. But Steve and Geoff came off as rude and lazy in this episode. When they shared a meal with the locals they were around a local delicacy; a type of fermented herring. They made a huge show of holding their noses and even leaving the area. Steve at least tried the fish and found he liked it. I don't know if it was due to editing, but the two American's stood around while a man about 60+ yrs. old and his daughter dug the holes. And for one of the meteorites that weighed 67 lbs. the older man was able to lift it out of the bottom of the hole. But it took both of the hosts to carry that meteor. Come on guys!
