This film does not deserve 8.2 stars out of 10 in any shape of form, it is really awful. I watched this yesterday with my wife and sadly wasted 20 dollars on this movie. Felt like kind of cheated while going through the whole movie. First of all, the writing is really terrible, the movie is about an Indian living in America in 70s this doesn't mean that every American he interacted with is an asshole. Demeaning other nationalities doesn't even make protagonist even one percent likable. Acting is bad, dialogs are bad. Set design is good, cinematography is good, except all the Chromakey shots with Michael Madsen, that really made me hate the movie. All in all not a good movie, it could have been 100 times better, if we knew the clear motivation of the characters. All the characters are one dimensional. Set design was impressive but could have been better. Given said all, I understand it is really hard to make a complete feature film and really an accomplishment for the filmmakers. I am not saying that people will not like this movie, this is right up the alley of pretentious hipsters to love, but for people who really have some taste, understands filmmaking and watch movies to get entertained its not for you.

New Writer Don Wilhelm
6 May 2011Warning: Spoilers
New writer Don Wilhelm has put together a great "product" Understand he has already been asked to work on a number of new projects. Keep your eyes open for his future successes. Although his initial work has been involved with the Baliwood scene, the quality of his work would serve him well in any form/location of entertainment. There are stories about his interfaces with the performers during the filming of Desperate Endeavors, and they are all positive. His capability to lead the cast through the difficulties of the New York City interface were evident. The actors came to him often to see if they were performing in their roles as he formulated that they should when he wrote the script for the movie. All of us can relive the early 70s and identify with the star of the film as he goes through the trials and tribulations that he must endure. The trailer is well worth watching, and I am looking forward to seeing the film when it comes out.
