Mark Hamill Is the Voice of Chucky in the Child's Play Remake

Mark Hamill Is the Voice of Chucky in the Child's Play Remake
Mark Hamill is the new voice of Chucky. A Child's Play remake has been in the works since last year and it's set to make its way to theaters this summer. One of the biggest questions, since Brad Dourif, who has voiced the killer doll in every single movie up to this point, isn't going to be involved, has been who is going to voice Chucky? That question has been answered and it's none other than Hamill. He was announced as the new voice of the franchise during WonderCon, which is currently taking place in Anaheim, California.

The announcement was made during a panel at the convention and, even though Mark Hamill couldn't be there himself, the actor recorded a message that was played for those in attendance and the response was reportedly electric. Hamill, best known for his work in the Star Wars franchise as Luke Skywalker, took to

Guadalajara: Netflix’s Melissa Cobb Teases Cross-Studio Collaboration
Guadalajara, Mexico — In the world, it would be hard to choose a more exciting figure to introduce a masterclass than Guillermo del Toro, and even more so when that talk is given in the filmmaker’s hometown of Guadalajara Mexico at a festival he has been involved with for its entire 33-year existence.

If the audience was excited when Del Toro emerged from the wings to introduce guest speaker Melissa Cobb, Netflix vice president, kids & family, they were absolutely buzzing when he sat across from her to moderate the hour-and-a-half long talk.

Del Toro’s “Tales of Arcadia” animated series trilogy is produced at Netflix, as is his upcoming stop-motion feature and passion project “Pinocchio.” The assembled crowd was even treated to a first look at some photos from the project.

“While traditional studios will say, ‘Welcome to the family!'” del Toro joked of his relationship with the streaming giant,

The cast of The Lion King remake continues to grow. Amy Sedaris has boarded the voice cast of the upcoming new take on Disney's animated classic in a brand new role created for the movie. So those who were concerned that this is going to be a shot-for-shot remake of the original need not be worried. Sedaris joins an already massive stable of talent who make up the voice cast of the highly-anticipated remake.

Amy Sedaris will voice an elephant shrew in The Lion King. Her character doesn't yet have a name, but this is a character that did not appear in the 1994 animated movie. Elephant shrews, for those who may not be familiar, are tiny mammals that live in Africa who are named for their long noses that closely resemble that of an elephant's. How exactly this character will factor into the overall plot remains to be seen.

CalArts Showcase Offers a Window Into Animation’s Next Generation

  • Variety
In certain ways, the May 2 CalArts Character Animation Producers’ Show resembled any number of other year-end showcases of undergrad work held by art schools nationwide. Students gathered to cheer on their classmates, as 22 student-created animation shorts were screened, with four of them winning special awards. Alumni and faculty mingled in the aisles, using the event as a de facto reunion.

Of course, most other schools’ programs do not fill up the DGA Theater in Hollywood, and most mingling alumni do not include the likes of Pixar’s Pete Docter catching up with students and offering notes afterward. And it was hard to miss the entire rows roped off for representatives of every major player in animation: Disney, Pixar, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, DreamWorks, Netflix, Bento Box …. Begun in the 1980s, and slowly expanding in stature starting in the mid-’90s, CalArts’ showcase has evolved into something resembling a friendlier version of an NFL combine,

Regular Show returns 25 Years Later thanks to Boom! Studios

Boom! Studios and Carton Network have announced the upcoming launch of Regular Show: 25 Years Later, an all-new six-issue limited comic book series inspired by the Emmy Award-winning animated series.

“I love the relative elegance of a Regular Show story. Start with a mundane problem, try to weasel out of it, and then plunge into madness,” said writer Christopher Hastings. “The characters are completely grounded, have real relationships with each other, and then you take them and stick them in the most bonkers, surreal, fantasy/sci-fi/horror/everything impossible scenarios you can think of. It’s a simple combo, but it gives you room for a countless amount of new stories. The tricky part was figuring out how to get the older and Much more mature Mordecai and Rigby to jump into that dance again. They’ve traded their insane adventures for family and career. Seeing how these wiser old pals

‘Cartoon Network Battle Crashers’ Review (Nintendo Switch)

  • Nerdly
When Uncle Grandpa accidentally flips the multidimensional switch on his Rv, he creates a tear in the universe that collides the worlds of some of Cartoon Network’s most beloved shows… That’s the set up for Cartoon Network Battle Crashers, the side-scrolling, kid-friendly beat ‘em-up from GameMill/Maximum Games – which has, a year on from its initial release, made it’s Nintendo Switch debut.

So how does it fair on Nintendo’s hybrid console? Well graphically it’s not a game that’s ever going to push the limits of the system, however the bright 2D character design and the variety of landscapes really showcases the Switch’s screen. Sadly the audio falls flat – through no fault of the console may I add – it seems that the developers were less concerned with how the game sounds in comparison to how it looks. Which is a shame as the particular
