When Pete and Myka are suppose to be in Russia searching for Artie they agree to meet later and separate. As they do the camera pans to the left on the street there is a very quick glimpse of a vehicle's license plate. It is not a Russian license plate but an old style Ontario, Canada plate that is navy with white lettering. See more »

Artie's past is catching up with him
25 October 2018 | by TweekumsSee all my reviews

As this episode opens Pete and Myka's old boss, Daniel Dickenson, is killed by an unseen assailant using the chain from Torquemada's rack. Artie immediately knows the killing is linked to him; the artefact was one of a number of trinkets he'd traded with a Soviet agent to secure the release of family members incarcerated there. At the Dickenson's funeral Myka is approached by H. G. Wells, she once again says she wants to help as well as explaining how she came to be bronzed. After another murder involving an artefact given to the Soviets; Artie, along with Pete and Myka head to Moscow. In a secondary story it looks as though Claudia and Todd might be getting back together; then she starts to have serious doubts about him.

This was a solid episode which served to tell us more about Artie's past while also giving a great main story. There are plenty of tense moments, especially towards the end, as well as a couple of unpleasant, but not overly graphic, deaths. H. G. Wells' reappearance adds to the story and it is still less than clear whether she can really be trusted. Claudia's story is very much secondary but it is still entertaining and had a nice twist towards the end. The cast were on good form; most notably Saul Rubinek as Artie. Overall I'd say this was another fine episode that fans of the series should enjoy.
