Nearly all of the episodes have titles which refer both to the plot of the episode, as well as a type of college course (Spanish 101, Advanced Criminal Law, etc). Some of them even refer to their specific episode number (ex: season 1, episode 9 was Debate 109). The exceptions are Community: Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas (2010), Community: A Fistful of Paintballs (2011), and Community: For a Few Paintballs More (2011).

Spoilers

The trivia item below may give away important plot points.

In this episode, it is revealed the group took a vote on whether to let Pierce back into the group for the next year through the use of cards. A red card meaning he could come back, a black card for against. The names of cards i.e. (Ace of Spades, King of Spades) were used to introduce some of the main cast this episode, the card names (presumably) correspond to their vote. Annie, was the only red card, Ace of Hearts, Jeff - King of Spades, Britta-Queen of Spades, Abed - Jack of Clubs, Troy - King of Clubs, Shirley - Ace of Clubs.
