Trying to make up for an inappropriate conversation with senior partner Parker's assistant, David, Fred becomes buddies with him. However, he starts to worry about having inadvertently given him the wrong signals privately when he finds out that David is gay. Grayson puts his home on the market in order to do away with his past with Deb. Jane gets Stacy to intrude and steal a photo album that could betray her secret affair with a married man before she met Grayson. Jane defends cocky PA Terry's co-raised adolescent cousin Edward Kim, who is in danger of deportation to Korea, while his mother Lee remains reluctant to disclose the crucial identity of his father, allegedly a US soldier. Jane's lawyer lover Tony accepts a dream job on the East coast.
Just as Jane and Tony finally move their relationship to the next level, Tony receives some news that affects both their futures. When Teri's cousin faces deportation charges, Jane steps in to help with the case. Parker and Kim get closer outside of the law offices, while Grayson decides to sell the house he shared with Deb.
