Hoping to bring his family closer together and to recreate his childhood vacation for his own kids, an adult Rusty Griswold takes his wife and two sons on a cross-country road trip to Walley World. Needless to say, things don't go quite as planned.
The Velociraptor at Walley World is the Ninja at Six Flags Over Georgia. Several things give this away: 1) American Scream Machine in the background. 2) Superman Ultimate Flight clearly visible in the background. 3) Acrophobia in the background (the teal and orange tower). 4) The entrance to the ride is Ninja's pagoda-style architecture. 5) The Velociraptor theming at the ride itself is clearly a printed banner covering the existing Ninja signage. 6) The Wild West theme, where the Griswolds get in line, is right next to Ninja, and the fact that this movie was shot recently, is seen in the new ride where they first stand in line. (The tower ride just came online in 2014, before that, it was a wheelie ride.) 7) Where the Griswolds first enter the park, is Six Flags Over Georgia's entrance, with Goliath briefly visible in the background. In the cockpit, Rusty and his co-pilot are shown holding the yoke of what we learn later is an Airbus 318. Airbuses use fly-by-wire flight controls and don't have yokes. See more »
Vacation isn't one of those must see movie blockbusters, and would probably be one of the last choices for anyone to watch for the month.
On the other hand, its much easier to arrange a group movie outing as the chances of everyone watching that is pretty low ;)
The ratings for this particular movie are quite bad(reference Rottentomatoes), which is no surprise as most crude comedies are rated so. It wasn't as crude as I expected it to be though.(then again maybe thats because it was moderated in Singapore)
To sum it up, we went in with low expectations. But! I could hear the hall filled with laughter through-out the movie! and we came out smiling and discussing about the funny parts as well. All in all an enjoyable movie experience :)
Yes, it's not gonna win any awards or sure. but for anyone looking for a light-hearted movie packed with laughter, WATCH THIS! :D I was honestly afraid of drinking my soda for fear of spurting it out from laughter.
