An elderly woman is out power-walking past a little league baseball field when a stray baseball hits her on the forehead, killing her. A few days later, some of her relatives go to her house to pick up her belongings, and find a voodoo doll sitting in a box that appeared to predict her death. Monk is brought in to investigate the case. But as other voodoo dolls arrive, seemingly predicting two more deaths, he finds that Natalie is afraid of voodoo due to an incident in her past, which comes to light after the person making the dolls sends one to Natalie predicting that she will be decapitated. When the police officer is looking at the news article about the man hit by lightning, the words "VOODOO KILLER" appear above the headline. Yet at the time the article would have been written, the voodoo doll had not yet been found and there would have been no reason for the newspaper to connect the murder to voodoo. See more »

Lt. Randall Disher: Natalie, it's just a doll.
Natalie Teeger: You really don't believe in it? Witchcraft, voodoo?
Lt. Randall Disher: I'm a pisces. We're not superstitious.

he couldn't detect ?

I find this entire series as voodoo...this moron can't tie his shoes, impossible to get along with people yet solve a murder...even the lowly peons on this earth have considerably better social skills and could solve mysteries by logic instead of waving their hands in space like a typical moron...i'm really surprised that natalie hasn't murdered the cheap defective...moving a waste basket to possibly near where it may have been years ago is the type of ploy the writers use to shift your focus from logical conclusions...these guys write horse manure in large piles to make the moron appear to be something he is not and that is a qualified detective...sick of his sham
