Just not worth the time or the energy to sit through...Absolutely unwatchable.
Poorly written, averagely directed, averagely acted(outside of Kate McKinnon), and just coming across as a huge middle finger to fans of the original movies it's a wonder how this scored so well with the critics.
Nothing really works in this reboot, there is very little chemistry between the four leads, the villain is a joke and cannot be taken any bit seriously, the effects work is ridiculously weak for a 2016 theatrical release, the humor ranges from awkward to unbelievably childish with no attempt to be either clever or creative, it does not help much that the music is also way too bombastic and loud that it just hurts whatever atmosphere the filmmakers were aspiring to create.
I wish I could say this was just average but its not even close to that.
