When Frankie Wharton discovers traces of cocaine in the recovered boat, Boyd and the team suspect that the Lovell family may have been involved in more that just fishing. Mark/Maria's cousins, Stephen and Martin, along with their friend Fin Dawley already had plans to convert the Lovell's industrial area to an upmarket shops and flats complex. The discovery of a body - headless and handless to limit identification - reveals the convoluted and complex family structure. Boyd is convinced that the most recent killing was perpetrated by the same person who killed off three members of the Lovell family 11 years before. The case takes a dramatic twist when they learn there is another police Superintendent working undercover in the area. The reason he is there may seriously hamper Boyd's investigation.
