Mrs. Muir vs. the System
25 October 2017 | by JordanThomasHallSee all my reviews

Frank Donaldson (Jack Burns, Deputy Warren Ferguson in "The Andy Griffith Show") has informed Mrs. Muir (Hope Lange) that he will be taking away 7/12 of the property at Gull Cottage for the county to construct a large tower to carry power lines. He claims it can be done through imminent domain. As owner, Claymore (Charles Nelson Reilly) was given two weeks to file a complaint and did not, as he was paid for the land. He changes his mind and has an injunction drawn up preventing the action. Construction equipment begins showing up where Mr. Donaldson has an order dismissing the injunction. A highly disturbed Captain Gregg (Edward Mulhare) wrecks havoc on Mr. Donaldson and the equipment, sending them away. With Norrie out of town, Mr. Peevey (Guy Raymond) is acting constable and arrives with Mr. Donaldson at Gull Cottage where Mrs. Muir is blamed. When she takes an ax away from the invisible Captain at the dozer, and an incriminating photo is taken by Mr. Donaldson. It appears in the newspaper and she is given the moniker "The Blonde Basher". Mr. Peevy arrives with an order from the county to arrest her on charges of "sabotage, interfering with a county project, malicious mischief, being a public nuisance, and using county equipment without authorization." He tells her to hide out of sight and he will report that he could not locate her, but she turns herself in to him for the publicity. Claymore comes to the jail to tell Mrs. Muir that they are scheduled for a court appearance in two days and that he will represent her. He then produces a certificate from Ungerhaber Correspondence Law School. At the hearing he gets off to a bumbling start, but a surprise action may change the proceedings.
