Ulysses is lured to the home of the enchantress Circe. Circe revives all of the companions but then turns them and the children into pig-like slaves. Ulysses meets a space captain called Hermes who tells him that all of his crew have been similarly enslaved by Circe and that she is using her slaves to build a tower in which she plans to store all of the knowledge in the universe which will make her more powerful than even the gods. Hermes shows Ulysses how to get to the tower, when he gets there he finds Nono who tells him what has happened to Telemachus and the others - the two of them meet Circe's librarian who is also called Hermes. When Ulysses confronts Circe she asks him to join her as he is the only man to have defied the gods. She offers to free the slaves and give them a map of all Olympus if he stays with her. But Hermes, the messenger of the gods will ensure that does not happen.
