Paul Feig’s Monster Movie Dark Army To Include Classic Universal Monsters

The next movie from Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, has just been announced, and it isn’t what you would expect from a filmmaker best known for his work in the comedy genre. Feig is set to write and direct Dark Army, based on an original idea that he developed himself, with the project set up at Universal and set to feature some of the studio’s stable of classic monsters.

This news comes completely out of left-field, as the guy that shot to prominence making broad Melissa McCarthy comedies seems like a strange choice to tackle the likes of Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. At least Feig seems to be ready to make a big-budget studio blockbuster again after the insane levels of online backlash that followed Ghostbusters every step of the way.

Game Of Thrones Star Also Being Eyed To Play Alfred In The Batman

Now that the Caped Crusader of Gotham City has a new face, everyone’s wondering who will get the opportunity to portray his trusted butler. Some are speculating that a legend like Pierce Brosnan will take on the role, while we’ve also heard reports that Warner Bros. is considering lesser-known talents like Jared Harris. But now we have one more name to add to the list, as our sources – the same ones who revealed that Pattinson was locked in as the Dark Knight before any other outlet confirmed it – say that there’s another name fans should be watching out for to potentially play Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman: Charles Dance.

The 72-year-old actor is probably most known for repulsing audiences as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, for which he’s earned a great deal of critical acclaim, but the popular show is just one of the many

The Invisible Man Blumhouse Reboot Release Date and Details

Joseph Baxter John Saavedra Aug 29, 2019

Blumhouse's remake of The Invisible Man arrives in February. Here's what we know about the studio's latest monster movie!

A new version of The Invisible Man, the classic Universal monster created by H.G. Wells, will live again in a new reboot from Universal and Blumhouse in 2020. This one will be headlined by Oliver Jackson-Cohen. The London-born actor is coming off his role as Luke Crain on Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, which – in its depiction of the character’s struggles with addiction and past trauma – reportedly impressed the film’s creative coalition enough to clinch the role. It certainly sounds like an applicable skill set to the Invisible Man’s gradual emotional descent into villainy and murder.

The film is written (as an adaptation of the Wells story) and directed by Leigh Whannell, who previously directed Insidious: Chapter 3, Upgrade, and is attached to

Blumhouse's Invisible Man Gets a Spring 2020 Release Date
The Invisible Man remake is officially coming our way in 2020. Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind hits such as The Purge franchise, Get Out and Sinister, have been preparing to remake this classic Universal monster flick for some time now. The majority of the pieces needed are in place, including a director in the form of Leigh Whannell, and a pair of stars in Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale) and Storm Reid (A Wrinkle In Time). Now, the studio has revealed when we can expect to see this new Invisible Man appear in theaters.

According to a new report, The Invisible Man is set for release on March 13, 2020. When Dracula Met Dracula: Gary Oldman and Luke Evans Unite for Vampire Photo

When Dracula Met Dracula: Gary Oldman and Luke Evans Unite for Vampire Photo
Dracula actors Gary Oldman and Luke Evans posed for a photo together posted on the latter's Twitter account, and it's a real treat for big fans of vampire movies. Of course, both actors have portrayed the iconic vampire in unconnected movies, each offering vastly different performances for the character. Captioned as "When Dracula met Dracula," the actors are shown bearing their teeth for the camera, with Evans actually wearing prop fangs. As seriously as the two played the roles in their respective movies, it's amusing to see the two of them together enjoying their reminiscing over previously playing the same monster in their movie careers.

Luke Evans and Gary Oldman were likely working on the upcoming movie Dreamland when the photo was snapped, as Evans inserted a hashtag referencing the movie on his tweeted photo. Written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki, Dreamland will also star Evangeline Lilly, Armie Hammer, Veronica Ferres,

Is Blumhouse's The Invisible Man Really The Invisible Woman?

Before Marvel came on the scene with their Superhero universe of compelling characters, Universal Pictures had a huge grip of a franchise in their famous big screen Monsters: Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein, and of course The Invisible Man. Not too long ago Universal announced they would be creating their own "Dark Universe" melding the famous monsters into each other's storylines to create something akin to the Marvel Universe of superheroes.

They started out with a film called Dracula Untold, which did not do well. They then moved onto The Mummy starring Tom Cruise, but that was not well received either. Trying to gin up the hype machine we heard about: Russell Crowe in a new version of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Javier Bardem as the newest Frankenstein Monster, Invisible Man starring Johnny Depp, and remakes of their monster characters, The Wolf Man, The Creature from the Black Lagoon,

Matt Smith in Discussions to Join Jared Leto in Spider-Man Spinoff Movie Morbius

  • DailyDead
Out of all of the superheroes in the Marvel Comics universe, Spider-Man's lineup of villains is perhaps the most eclectic, intriguing, and horrifying. Morbius the Living Vampire is certainly no exception, and with Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse enjoying big box office runs, it's no surprise that Sony is looking to expand their own "Spider-Verse" with a movie based on Morbius, with Jared Leto in the lead role and Matt Smith now potentially joining the film's cast.

Variety reports that Matt Smith (perhaps best known for playing the Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who) is "in final talks" to play a yet-to-be-revealed "major role" in the Morbius movie.

Last June, multiple sources, including Variety, previously reported that Jared Leto will play the titular character in a Morbius movie directed by Daniel Espinosa. Leto has reportedly been interested in bringing the character to life on screen for a while, but wanted

Exclusive: Antoine Fuqua will meet with Kevin Feige about directing a Marvel film

While Kevin Feige has his hands full fighting for James Gunn’s script in the fallout of the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 debacle, it appears he’ll be making time to sit down with Equalizer, Magnificent Seven and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua to discuss working together on a new project – possibly Morbius.

Back in November it was reported that Sony had set up the project about The Living Vampire, and were using a script from Dracula Untold and Lost in Space writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless with Jared Leto leading the film. A few years back Morbius was on our list of Spider-Man characters who should get their own movies.

This is not the first time Fuqua’s name has been linked to a movie about The Living Vampire. Back in April JoBlo spoke to the director at CinemaCon following the news that Sony had approached him about a Morbius film.

Will We Ever Get to See a “Dracula Untold 2?”

People are certainly picky about their monster movies these days, but it’s easy to understand why. Dracula Untold wasn’t a favorite with the fans for whatever reason but honestly some of us liked it. The movie gave a more realistic look at the origins of the dreaded vampire known as Dracula, and what’s more is that it revealed that he was not the first of his kind, not even close. Instead he was the product of another that had been tainted by a demon, or a devil depending on the way you look at it. So as far as the
