Banned Rock Opera of the Powerpuff Girls
1 October 2019 | by brainsalad-1See all my reviews

Tired of seeing their city destroyed, the Powerpuff Girls make a wish for peace. Is the little Gnome on the red flower the answer to their prayers? In order to find out, the Powerpuff Girls must first choose whether to sacrifice all their powers to him. Banned in the US because some of the visuals were seen as too religious. Some of the music isn't great, but the parts sung by the Gnome are actually well done with a heavy metal/progressive rock vibe. The imagery is classic Powerpuff minimalism combined with in this case with a hint of psychedelic from the 60s and 70s. One of the better episodes.
