Very different from other Japanese Drama
4 November 2006 | by yossi-16See all my reviews

Most Japanese dramas are based on relationships. Usually, un-likely ones and this one is no different. However, the story and the settings of this relation are totally different from the usual boy meets girl stories.

Takumi (Takenouchi Yutaka) is an undercover cop infiltrating "Kazama Holdings", a Japanese conglomerate which is actually only a mask for a crime syndicate called "Shenku". "Shenku"'s boss hired a Korean girl called Yuna (Che Ju) to develop a software so powerful it can topple Japan's economy if ever completed and ran.

So begins a very good story with many twists and turns in which nothing is as it seems to be and important characters end up dead in the chase to prevent the completion of the software.

The acting in this drama is superb. The actors maintain the high quality of their act throughout the 11 episodes of this drama to a triumphant achievement.

The quality of production is very high and the musical score, especially the theme song, "I Believe", sang by the singer Ayaka, is very memorable.

Most Japanese TV dramas run for a 3 month season for 11, 12 episodes with a beginning and an end. You hardly ever get sequels or a multiple season running story. This kind of TV is very rewarding since it doesn't stress the viewer's patience with a long running and ambiguous story (LOST anyone?).

If look for a different TV experience, try to get your hands on this one. I am in Israel and I managed to do it. I'm sure you can too.
