Guest star in this Zane Grey Theater episode was none other than producer Dick Powell's wife June Allyson. It was an interesting change of pace from the roles she did on the big screen.
A bit older now, Allyson's days as the young girl next door opposite boy next door leading men like Van Johnson were long gone. In this teleplay she plays an older woman who's been around the track once too often. With no place to go and a young son played by Robert Crawford to support she returns to her home town where her stern father Paul Fix reluctantly takes her in.
Fix is having some neighbor problems as well and a lot of people won't let Allyson forget her wilder years. Still it all works out in the end.
This story is a must for June Allyson fans, a chance to see her in a different kind of part. Face it, she was too old to play innocent girls next door any more.
