Storyline

Melanthos Moon is a San Francisco art and antique dealer who manages to hijack a large supply of the special paper used to print U.S. Currency. He then arranges to spring from Leavenworth prison master counterfeiter Hans Dreiser to engrave the plates to produce the money. Eliot Ness and the Untouchables are soon on to him having followed Moon's henchman Benny Joplin back to his Oakland, California home. With the phony money available, Moon then approaches Chicago mobster Frank Nitti with an offer of $100 million split 50/50 with Nitti distributing the cash. Ness and his men are out to get one of the nearly perfect bills to get the serial number and stop the distribution of the cash before it starts. Written by garykmcd

Eliot Ness attended meeting in Washington DC to discuss the paper robbery with the secret service. During the meeting the agent in charge showed an example of a counterfeit fifty dollar bill that bore the facsimile signature of Ivy Baker Priest who served as secretary of the treasury from 1953 to 1971, a term that began some two decades after the events depicted in the story. A Full Moon
29 November 2011 | by ccthemovieman-1See all my reviews

The rotund (they call him "fat" a number of times in this episode) Victor Buono guest-stars as "Mr. Moon," a man who has a great scheme worked out in which he can counterfeit $100,000,000.

With the exact papers bills are printed on and the best counterfeiter in the businesses, (see the episode how those two are acquired), the master criminal is ready to roll.

How can he be stopped before this money gets into circulation? That's the main storyline here.

The episode includes a few other interesting characters, small-time guys working for the big man and the ending.....well, you have to see this wild scene to believe it!!! I guarantee you'll get a "bang" out of it! Of the guest stars, I particularly enjoyed Karl Swenson's performance as the master forger "Hans Dreiser."
